and so

I deleted my facebook because I cannot let that thing define me.

If you need a better reason, then just assume I did it for attention, and that its childish and etc.  You’d probably be right.

wait a minute is not having a facebook but then having a blog… is that hypocritical?

yes.

Anyway, I’ve been listening to some records and this is them:

1. Admiral Fell Promises - Sun Kil Moon

because Mark Kozelek is going to break what is left of my heart.  This record is gloomiest thing Mark Kozelek has put out, ever.  The guitar work is impressive though, its like he’s been listening to Tallest Man on Earth or something.  Its a stripped-bare version of Ghosts of the Great Highway.

2. Deja Entendu - Brand New

I’ve had this for years but I’ve never really appreciated it.  I was too busy condescending to people who listened to it, but now that I’m over that weird scene-assignment phase, I know that this record has an ability to make you feel like CRAP in the best way possible.

3. Joshua Judges Ruth - Lyle Lovett

What can I say, its beautiful.  My beloved dance-guide Patricia gave this to me as a parting gift and I’ve been listening ever since.  My dad used to listen to Lyle Lovett when I was a kid, so his voice feels really familiar to me even though I had never heard anything off this record before.  Its nice.

4. Stephen Malkmus - Stephen Malkmus

All you need to know is Vague Space, Pink India, Black Book and all the other songs.

By day I’ve been working full time at the YMCA as a camp counselor.  I lead group 5 and 6. I love these kids, but they kick my ass.  By night I’ve been working on recording crappy demos and writing my crappy novel.

Also I’ve been reading more Lorca.  I’m trying to learn better Spanish.  A kid at work is helping me, he’s my fave.  I can’t tell you what his name is.
